The Golden
W.H.E.E.L. Organization is pleased to have funded over 170 scholarships
totaling over $400,000. Many young men and women in our community have
a great desire to further their education beyond high school. Our goal
is to assist high school seniors with funds to attend college and fulfill
their dream of higher education. Each year, a number of high schools
in the West Valley have the opportunity to support students in completing
applications for the Golden W.H.E.E.L. Organization Scholarship.
Each April a lovely dinner is held to honor and recognize
the students who have been selected to receive a $4,000 Golden W.H.E.E.L.
Scholarship. At this dinner, the students are recognized for their achievements
not only in education, but in the community as well.

Maleta Hamblin was one of the founding members
of the Golden W.H.E.E.L. Organization. The Hamblin family, in partnership
with the Golden W.H.E.E.L. Organization, has created this scholarship
in her memory. Maleta's vision was to help students in the West Valley
achieve and even surpass their dreams of education. Maleta found great
pride in the strength of youth in our community and understood their
role in our future. In 2006, Maleta lost her courageous battle with
cancer. She left behind her husband, five children and eleven grandchildren.
Maleta has left her family with a strong legacy that children are a
treasure and that education is the key to their future. The Golden W.H.E.E.L.
Organization is very dedicated to the continuing education of the youth
in our community. We are honored to partner with the Hamblin family
in presenting the Maleta Hamblin Memorial Scholarship.
